A Lesson of Dew’ing
Today my son asked me for something to drink. His usual request would be for me to give him something like flavored water but, we were out. So I said, “You can have a bit of my Mountain Dew.” He said ok. I grabbed the bottle and poured some in his cup. He drank a little and said, “mmm - Dad? Can my brother have a cup of it too?” I replied, “Why don’t you just give him some of yours?” “‘Cause he might drink all of it.”, he said. I looked at him and said, “Son, don’t worry… if your brother drinks the rest of it, I’ll give you more to drink.” He got this smile on his face and said, “OK!!” and off he went to share his drink with his brother.

As I watched him give his cup to his brother, I realized the lesson he had just learned. If you are willing to freely give whatever you have to someone else… even if it’s all you have, God is willing to freely give it back to you. Over the last 8 years of my life, I’ve lived by that principle. It hasn’t been easy. But I have to think that if I’m willing to share more of my Dew (which I so enjoy) with my son because he was willing to share what little he had with someone else… how much more can a perfect God like Father be willing to do the same for me? So the lesson is, don’t be afraid to share what you have… trust God and just Dew’ it. (reference)
